Spiritual Life
Highland Academy boasts a rich spiritual life for students. Several events throughout the year are dedicated to the advancement of our student’s spiritual lives.
-
Highland Academy invites speakers to share their love of God and provide a spiritual influence on our students. We hold a Week of Spiritual Emphasis at the beginning of the school year. Second semester our week of Spiritual Emphasis is student lead.
-
A wonderful way to finish a Week of Spiritual Emphasis is through our Agape Feast. Held on a Friday evening our students and staff participate in the communion ceremony with a speaker wrapping up his message.
-
Students share their musical talents at this outdoor event. The church and community are invited to attend and help raise money for student missions.
-
Four groups of students and a staff member visit area Kentucky-Tennessee churches to provide the entire church service. The churches look forward to what the students are able to share through a children's story, music or testimony. We typically visit churches twice a year, once in November and in February.
-
Students have an opportunity to participate with the Highland SDA church service, and Sabbath Schools. Involvement can include children's story, special music, sound/AV, and Sabbath school assistance.
-
Our student Hope Squad provides a week of spiritual emphasis in the spring. This is a student led program sharing what they have learned about mental health with God being the center.
-
Students visit the poorest counties in Kentucky to help families in need. They build, clean and provides for the needs of the community.
